Yeah, really nice, thx for the preview! By the way: In the original game the system was spelled Lafser instead of Lasfer. Betatest started! Lol you're right! Mark this as the unofficial start date of the beta! It's probably been like that for 5 years... Ok, I'll put a bug report in for it. See? This is why we need you fine people to help out with the beta!

It looks like you added a lot of content. Looking forward to playing the game! Yes, there is new content. We have everything the original game had, but then we expanded it to include new weapons, new stocks, new features on the ship, new black market goods to buy for your ship or for yourself, Etc. In other words, more toys to play with! Have fun!

Are you keeping the FTL ZoomAction graphical effect?

Are you keeping the FTL ZoomAction graphical effect? Yup, it functions pretty much the same. For those unfamiliar, the ZoomAction window was a novel concept at the time the original game was released, where an birds-eye view of a scene could be "zoomed" in to see a more detailed, closer view. This happens when you are on the street and a beggar comes up to you, or when you enter a building from walking around on the street. Couple more screenshots for ya! First is a rather unique shot I managed to get where I was flying around the New Shoot system, and I was able to capture Hell eclipsing the star. Second is the planet Hell, a desert covered, hot place, flying towards the ship as we're making a final approach to enter orbit.

You're killing me, Smalls! I wanna play. The screen shots look amazing, and the hints at content make me really excited. The original game was so fun to begin with, and now with all the added depth, I'm drooling!

Yes! Once, my brother and I were having a fight. When I wasn't looking, he drove the pod off into the wilderness of Johndd, walked back to Drahew, and saved the game. When I loaded it, the game was now unplayable! Big jerk. I have a LOT of childhood memories involving this game.

When I loaded it, the game was now unplayable! Big jerk. I have a LOT of childhood memories involving this game. That is probably the most evilest thing I have ever heard. lol! You'll be happy to know that in THIS game, that cannot happen. Your ship and pod are marked by indicators on the corner of your screen to help you find them as you wander around. This is helpful if your pod gets stolen and ruffians joyride around before ditching it. I know I'm killing you all with screen shots and stuff, but we're just working to get the last of the current bugs on the bug list squashed before releasing the Beta. Hang tight!

Looking at the Ship's Computer. Will all software be available in beginning, or will there be the ability to purchase software like in Land of Devastation? I thought that was the best part of that game - adding new features to your computer by buying/winning/stealing software.
