Congratulations, Kalief! We know you'll do a wonderful job. Very excited to see the progress! I know this has been asked, but unsure if there was a final answer - will there be an opportunity for us to aid financially? We know a TON of work has gone into this and a lot of us would very happy to throw some money at the screen.
Keep 'em flying!

Progress update: I've been working on more graphic improvements such as an edited title splash screen, death screens, improved weapons effects and improved item/part graphics, while Wai has been going through the remaining bugs on our bug list.
I've also spent some time cleaning up the boards here and have changed the user rank system a bit. You might have noticed your rank has changed... I have a total of 17 (yes, SEVENTEEN) user ranks possible, each based on how many posts you make. The largest gap between ranks currently is 50 posts, and that's just at the very upper rank end of the spectrum (it starts at 5 posts). So, no matter what rank you are, the next rank up should be feasibly attainable.

Seventeen different post ranks! Nice. Do you end up with seventeen pips, or after a while does the method of counting change from one pip style to another?

lol currently you max at 10 but the pips (that's what they are called?) have markings on them indicating additional rank and coolness.

NEW SCREENSHOTS! So, we have a desert scene on Hell, where I've stumbled across an abandoned colony. The next image indicates what I found - in this case some items. You can locate shipwrecks, abandoned pods, or failed colonies, when when you tough them you might find money, items, or cargo in them. In the last photo you see me starting up the warp engine, with a few stars starting to fly at me.

First we see the shopkeeper's dialogue window in a gunshop in Sheshco, which obviously is the place to go to get ready for trouble. They have pretty much everything! Next is the shootout taking place. I'm kicking butt, by the way. I got the X-92!

Now here we see me sliding into orbit around Snowball, aptly named. Each planet's surface is mapped with the texture of the actual surface, so what you see in orbit is what you will see when you go out to explore the surface. And then lastly you see we've bribed a barkeeper and he's showing what is for sale on the black market. This only represents perhaps 1/4 of the black market items available.

Yeah, really nice, thx for the preview! By the way: In the original game the system was spelled Lafser instead of Lasfer. Betatest started!

Awesome screens! Congrats Kalief on your much deserved role in this momentous project. I think that I'm more excited for this than the long-awaited "No Man's Sky".
