Hey all,
New over here and already posted in a few places on this forum, answering/talking about this and that
I first played SunDog when I was 8 years old on a pirated disk made by my uncle. Once my Dad found out I loved the game he used a gift card he had won at work to get me the real version.
Since at the time I understood maybe one out of 5 English words, I kept dying and wondering how, but eventually it clicked and I managed to really play the game and eventually finish it.
I always wondered why no one in the business of making games ever remade this game or took inspiration from it... To this day, more than 35 years after it going live, we still have nothing like it.
We have hundreds of Dungeon Master clones, shooter clones, Dune2 clones, etc... But no serious take on a SunDog clone. Odd... I'll be glad to explore/experiment with a newer version of the game when it's out.
I play Sundog roughly thru-and-thru about once every 3 years, and I've become very comfortable about it's strategies and secrets.
Like many others on this forum, no doubt. It's in fact during one of these phases that I spoke with Jake on his old forum, helping him with some easter-egg tiles he did not have
Then the site went offline but then re-emerged as this new more tight-lipped version of the game, and now in BETA. Now in 2020... wow time flies.
