Spam

I pop in from time to time to check on the status of the game - whether or not it has left beta and moved forward. Aside from that, I do check in on what's new and if I see something suspect, I report it. This board is for community sharing, not commercials. I, too, am at a loss as to how to halt the spammers ("I am not a robot" perhaps?) and it just might have to rely on those of us who like to keep up on things. :-)

Hi - A common way to filter out spam is to require an approval step in registration. It would consolidate spam requests in one place and you would not have to hunt around for them. Downside is that you would have to review all requests. Total number of members is unlikely to double (as an example) so volume would probably not be prohibitively high. You might consider having the applicants fill out the member profile as part of registration. I sort of expected that. Those steps might reasonably be expected to discourage a spammer from filling out the application (because of too much "trouble" to the process) and at the same time even encourage a real member. Either way it's the price of living in a SPAM universe. Other suggestion would be to move to Hawaii. They love it and eat lots of it over there. Not as bad as it was before. But Jamdan and I tend to blast that stuff pretty quickly.

Funny how much we still get. We're like what? 15 active users on a forum which by all account is pretty much dead (at least, atm).
I wonder how the AI revolution will impact spam bots.... Ummmm.
