Sundog has stayed in my mind since playing it for many hours, days, weeks when I first had an Atari ST (Go go Atari !!!).
I wish I still had all the boxed games and equipment, but in move with no space I sold it all, 8-bit Atari 800, Atari ST, games, hardware, the lot.
Oh well.
Sundog captured my imagination, the same way elite had.
I loved the travelling to different planets and especially the way components would "blow" and you had to hunt round replacing them (with better ones if you had the credits).
Found you guys as I was looking at videos while explaining the game to an old friend who plays online with me.
Thought I would give it a try as I had loaded an emulator a few years back and enjoyed the game again (although struggling with the interface a little).
Would love there to be a Sundog reboot.
A multiplayer would be amazing.
Am 56 now and although I still play games, I really miss the old 8 and 16 bit days.
Used to belong to a computer club in Woolwich where I met a great and long lasting bunch of friends.
We used to have friendly heated discussions on which is best, Atari or Commodore.
Silica shop a place to buy stuff, but also to hang out and chat to like minded staff and other customers.
Youth and vitality
sigh
Good days
Microprose
Bitmap Brothers
Ultima
LucasArts (remember "Behind Jaggi Lines"?, Rescue on Fractalus?, The Eidolon?)
Infocom (I so miss those wonderful text adventures from them)
Those big cardboard boxes filled with disks, real manuals, memorabilia.
And games that were usually original in thought.
An old remembered game such as Sundog will be welcome.
