Bozwsorth, I don't recall those screenshots being in the public area, but I might be wrong. Did you take those screenshots directly from the game? If so, I have a concern that publishing them on a public forum as you did would almost certainly constitute a violation of the non-disclosure agreement that you signed when you became a beta tester. That said, it's certainly a really cool idea. However, I think if you took those screenshots directly from your beta copy of the game, that it might be something that the developers don't want you to do. Now, I'm not in charge, so I don't make the calls as far as that sort of thing goes. But I think you might want to reach out to Jake directly to make sure that he's OK with this.

Hey, I do like the looks of that game idea! The world needs more quality sims like that. As to the photos, yeah they are a NDA violation. I won't send the RoboLock RL-X2700 to lock up your pod this time. (Which, incidentally, I'm currently redrawing that image of the pod being locked up in high-def, using the original photos I took while I was deployed in Operation Iraqi Freedom, which was when I just started to work on this project. The robot itself was created from a TER-9A triple bomb rack on my F-16 Falcon, with yellow scrapped paint textures from a load lift we used to move 500-lb bombs around the hangar). But anyway, as the game is not a public release state yet, we do appreciate people keeping things under wraps.

These screenshots where available a long time ago in 2003(or 2007? can't remember) on Jake's former website. I know because I had found 2-3 tiles that he did not have and I went in-game to screenshot them and send to him. There where also picture of the alert moving bar animation, most planetary maps (desert, snow), tiles ofc, ship parts redux, some weird food, some screenies of the new character inventories (with the little change in the pod storage, that special compartment), new guns/armor, and even some concept for an expanded universe map beyond Enlie with very good looking tiles that I had never seen in Sundog before. So this might be where they got them, or if they had favorite the old website, could've used the wayback machine to get them again maybe... Or you had a leak from someone, yeah.
As for star citizen, the "Sundog" kind of already exist. I believe they called the ship the "Constellation" it's that 2 turret and 4 engine pods trader/hybrid that was in the original 7 ships of the game back in 2011. A next close match is that fuel tanker ("StarFarer") that they put out, you could retrofit the space for solid cargo as opposed to liquid and has a nice turret, some front guns, and a lot of shields for it's size. It also came out in 2011, near November I think.
Star Citizen looked nice but they started doing "Boarding mechanics" which nobody but a few FPS junkies asked, and it bogged game development down. I don't know when that game will officially release, it does give me a SunDog vibe, but I feel it's going to end-up like Eve online again which is going to kill it very quickly. Time will tell.
