I am Markus, a retired US Air Force pilot currently living in Europe. My first computer was an old Zenith with an 8 MB hard drive, though I did some programing in my youth on punch cards. I recall Sundog when it came out many years ago and would be glad to see it come back (as well as a few other classics). People can talk about the Wing Commander, Privateer, Star Lancer, Freelancer, X-wing, etc. but it all started with Sundog. I have plenty of free time to beta test and report issues.

Greetings Markus! Glad to have you on the flightline! What did you drive? And did you ever get around to Aviano?
Fun fact: Much of the artwork I did while I was in the Air Force stationed in Italy or in the sandbox. I remember sitting in my GP Medium in the sandbox for weeks on end drawing tile after tile for the city building tile sets. Other artwork, such as the police robot that locks your pod was drawn in an aircraft bunker in OIF. The yellow metal texture is from a photo I took of the metal skids for cargo, and the arms are actually TER-9A bomb racks.

To add to the OIF factor in Sundog, I did some Alpha testing from Mosul and Baghdad. I was on an advisory team and had some extra time on my hand, so some of the early bug reports I sent in were from an old Iraqi Air Force base we had occupied. This was the last iteration of OIF before OND.

I flew RC-135 reconnaissance aircraft. I did visit Aviano a couple times during my career, and there's a little hotel/restaurant in nearby Budoia that had awesome Northern Italian food. I might drive to that region again in the next year or two just for the food and wine!
